Just a Couple Days until the Smoking Ban

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

All Right, my town has chosen a smoking ban for all public facilities, with only a few exceptions. I’m so done with my rights being taken away, I’m ill. I cannot understand the reason non-smokers have such a sharp judgement on what us smokers want to do. I understand that smoking is bad, but I made a conscience choice when I began smoking, aware of the fact it was not good. Just because non-smokers want me to quit, will not mean that it will happen. Smoking in bars has been a freedom, but most restaurants have a chosen smoking area. If you prefer not to to breathe in the smoke, don’t eat in the smoking area, you are not coerced to sit in that section. And as well as the jobholers of these pubs that say they are tortured by second hand smoke, what a joke. I worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years, and I know that most of theco-workers were smokers.  Doing business with the public, tends to, drives you to smoke.  Also, I have never heard any non-smoking co-worker ever protest about smoking while on the job in the smoking area. Putting a smoking restriction in restaurants and bars, can only save me money, because I will not go out after the the new year.

What I want for my Present: Cigars!

Friday, December 11th, 2009

I have decided this christmas to beg for simple presents that my wife can determine easily for me. My selection, as always, is my favorite cigar from white-owl-cigars.com. She doesn’t even have to take leave of the apartment, she can go on the web (I have all my favorites sites saved) and place the order there. As far as anything else, she can head over to the closest retailer and pick something up. She mentions every Christmas that I am totally difficult man to purchase for. But we have been together for almost 15 years! And if she doesn’t know the things I admire by now, I give up. I constantly articulate every Christmas, “I got to have smokes”, I smoke 1 or 2 a day, and that adds up. I bought a humidor for holding my smokes, “what’s that for?” my wife askes. Well my love, it’s to keep my cigars alive. So, if you get me some for christmas I can keep them in that for a few months and pull a stogie when I am ready to enjoy one. Although I have to say, I was blessed with luck last year, my wife bought me a lighter that was ingraved with my initials. The prior year, she bought me a fishing pole, because I said I would like to go fishing again someday. Well, I went fishing only once since then, but guess what, I still puff 1-2 smokes a day. In the end what do I want for the holiday this year? I want Smokes, and anything else would just be an additional enjoyment.
